The Chord Company HDMI Active Silver Plus with Ethernet has been designed and manufactured to provide an extremely high level of performance at a very good price. The Chord HDMI Active Silver Plus will carry a 340 MHz signal. 

The New HDMI Active Silver Plus with Ethernet follows Chord's highly successful, award-winning HDMI Silver Plus with Ethernet. The HDMI Silver Active Plus is a genuine upgrade on it's excellent predecessor.

The new design features a high frequency filter (on all lengths) which (technically speaking) reduces intra/inter channel skew between the fours pairs of TDMS signals HDMI cables carry - this results in improved picture quality and, perhaps more importantly, improved SOUND quality. Compared to the Silver Plus 1.3, the HDMI Active Silver Plus with Ethernet produces a noticeably more detailed, dynamic and musically coherent sound.

We have continued the tried and tested solution of very heavy gauge silver plated oxygen free signal conductors - 26AWG conductors that reduce signal attenuation. The shielding used is traditional Chord Co: ie. overlapped foil shielding around all critical signal paths to minimise crosstalk. Double outer foil and high-density braid also combine to minimise the levels of external interference.
The exciting aspect of the Chord HDMI Active is the inclusion of a high frequency filter on all lengths. The filter reduces the intra/inter channel skew between the four pairs of TDMS signals. In tests using Denon, Arcam, Yamaha and Playstation 3 DVD and Blu-ray players, all aspects of picture were improved by using the HDMI Active cable.

When compared to the Chord HDMI Silver plus 1.3, the Chord Active produced a more detailed, dynamic and crucially musically coherent sound. The improvement in performance was such that in tests participants consistently chose a 15 metre Chord Active HDMI cable over a similarly priced 1 metre cable. In factory and field audio testing, both two channel and multi-channel systems were used.

Silver-Plated Oxygen Free Copper Conductors

The Chord Company HDMI Active cable with Ethernet features silver-plated oxygen free copper conductors. Silver has a lower resistance than copper andp plating or coating copper conductors with silver reduces the overall resistance to signal flow and prevents the copper from oxidising. This allows the conductor to perform better for longer distances. Silver plating will improve both audio and video performance, improving clarity and detail in audio applications and delivering higher resolution in video applications.
