Musical Fidelity have added to their V series of products with a successor of the V-DAC aptly named V-DAC II. The V-DAC II offers a sturdy silver chassis and features the same Asynchronous technology found in the V-Link. The V-DAC II offers half the the amount of distortion seen in the V-DAC, now at just 0.002% from 20Hz to 20kHz. Like the original V-DAC the V-DAC II has been engineered to be as simple as it can possibly be - and no simpler. As a result, it offers sonic performance equal to or greater than many so-called high end DACs.

The V-DAC II is powered by a 12V DC power supply and features an upsampling 24-bit 192k DAC,  along with digital inputs for all of your digital sources, consisting 1 x  Coax, 1 x Optical and an Asynchronous USB digital input, along with standard stereo RCA outputs.

The technical performance of the V-DAC II is probably about the best in the world regardless of price. There is no trickery here. It's simply that V-DAC II uses state-of-the-art digital components (these are very expensive) and implement them with state-of-the-art circuitry and layout.
