Date added: Friday, 6 July 2012 Sennheiser Announce use of PrioSpot Anti-Fraud Technology

After a prolonged battle with counterfeit goods flooding the market with the Sennheiser branding, Sennheiser have now adopted a new technique to help ensure that their customers are always getting the real product. Sennheiser are going to start to release packaging with tesa scribos® PrioSpots, a relatively new technology that will enable their customers to check themselves if the product they have purchased is genuine or not. Customers will be able to scan a unique QR code that has been printed onto the packaging and using a smartphone with an internet connection the unique code can be looked up in a database to see if it is a legitimate product or not.

Hopefully this will begin to put an end to the mass of counterfeit Sennheiser headphones in the market and help to protect Sennheiser's brand image. Personally we cannot wait for this to be introduced as it will mean a much more level playing field price wise for our customers safe in the knowledge that they are getting the real, genuine Sennheiser headphones as we only receive our headphones from Sennheiser UK direct.
