Simple Audio have announced a software update for its Roomplayer multiroom system that now enables the digital output and adds support for more streaming services.

The update enables owners of a Roomplayer I or II to connect them to a higher quality external DAC or using either the optical or coaxial digital outputs.

They have also added Twonky playback support, so if you're using a Twonky-enabled NAS (network attached storage device) you are now able to stream music directly from it to with greater ease. You can also select tracks to play via the Simple Audio iOS control app.

Simple Audio has partered up with music streaming service Deezer to bring access to around 15 million tracks. Deezer access gives Simple Audio players the ability to search and play tracks, albums and artists, as well as listen to themed radio stations.
